Admission Process Flow

Admissions to NIT Goa are strictly entrance-based. For the B.Tech program, candidates must appear for the JEE Main examination and participate in the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) or CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) counseling process. M.Tech admissions are conducted through the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) followed by CCMT (Centralized Counselling for M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan.) counseling. For the Ph.D. program, the institute conducts its own written test and personal interview for shortlisted candidates twice a year (July and January cycles). International students can seek admission through the DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) scheme.

General Eligibility Criteria

For B.Tech: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Mathematics, and one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology as mandatory subjects, securing at least 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or being in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards. A valid JEE Main rank is mandatory. For M.Tech: A Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech.) in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD) and a valid GATE score. For Ph.D.: A Master's degree in the relevant field with at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA.
