Admission Process Flow
The admission process at NIT Durgapur is strictly entrance-based. For the flagship B.Tech program, candidates must appear for the JEE Main examination and participate in the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) or CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) counseling. Admission to M.Tech programs is through GATE scores followed by CCMT (Centralized Counselling for M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan). M.Sc admissions are conducted via IIT JAM scores through CCMN (Centralized Counselling for M.Sc/M.Sc. (Tech)). MBA admissions require a valid CAT, XAT, MAT, or CMAT score followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview. PhD admissions are based on institutional entrance tests or national exams like NET/GATE followed by an interview.
General Eligibility Criteria
For B.Tech: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and at least 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective board. For M.Tech: A relevant bachelor's degree in engineering/technology with at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA and a valid GATE score. For MBA: A bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA. For PhD: A master's degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST).
