Admission Process Flow

The admission process at JNTUH is strictly merit-based and follows the reservation policies of the Government of Telangana. For undergraduate (B.Tech) programs, admission is primarily through the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET / TG EAPCET). For postgraduate programs like M.Tech, candidates must qualify for the GATE exam or the Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET). MBA and MCA admissions are conducted through the Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test (TS ICET). The university also conducts its own entrance examinations for PhD and research-based programs. After qualifying in the respective entrance exams, candidates must participate in centralized counseling for seat allotment.

General Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for B.Tech requires a pass in the 10+2 (Intermediate) examination from the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana, or an equivalent board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, securing a minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% for reserved categories). For M.Tech/M.Pharmacy, a relevant Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech/B.Pharm) with at least 50% marks is required. MBA/MCA candidates must have a recognized Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks and Mathematics as a subject at the 10+2 or graduation level. Lateral entry into B.Tech is available for diploma holders through the TS ECET rank.
