Seat allocation is managed by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). For postgraduate M.Tech programs, candidates must have a valid GATE score and participate in the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). M.Sc admissions are conducted via the IIT JAM entrance exam. Ph.D. admissions involve a screening process based on national-level exams (GATE/CSIR-NET/UGC-NET) followed by a written test and a personal interview conducted by the respective departments.
General Eligibility Criteria
For B.Tech programs, candidates must have passed the Class 12 board examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects. A minimum of 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or being in the top 20 percentile of the respective board is required. For M.Tech, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology with at least 60% marks or a 6.0 CGPA (55% or 5.5 CGPA for SC/ST) is mandatory. M.Sc applicants require a relevant Bachelor's degree with at least 55% marks and a valid IIT JAM score. Doctoral candidates typically need a Master's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
