Program Overview
Eligibility Criteria
- Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects.
- Minimum 75% aggregate in PCM for General/EWS/OBC-NCL categories; 65% for SC/ST/PwD categories.
- Must qualify JEE Advanced and participate in JoSAA counseling.
- No age limit.
Admission Process
Fee Structure Breakdown
- Total tuition fee for 4-year B.Tech course: Rs. 8,00,000 .
- Year 1 tuition fee: Rs. 1,00,000 per semester, total Rs. 2,00,000 for first year. Total first-year fees (including other charges): Rs. 2,32,000 .
- Subsequent years: Semester fees around Rs. 1,12,270, annual around Rs. 2,24,540 .
- Hostel fee: Approx. Rs. 79,000 - Rs. 1,00,000 per year (includes seat rent, electricity, water, and mess charges).
- Total fee for entire course (including hostel): Approx. Rs. 11,00,000 - Rs. 12,00,000 .

Admission Process
- Step 1: Entrance Exam: Candidates must qualify JEE Main to be eligible for JEE Advanced.
- Step 2: JEE Advanced: Candidates must obtain a valid rank in JEE Advanced.
- Step 3: JoSAA Counseling: Participate in JoSAA counseling, fill choices, and get a seat allotment based on rank and category.
- Step 4: Reporting: Report to IIT Palakkad after final seat allotment for document verification and fee payment.
Post-Selection Reporting
- Upon selection, candidates must report to IIT Palakkad campus for document verification and fee payment.
- Required Documents: Class 10 & 12 mark sheets and certificates, JEE Advanced scorecard, JoSAA allotment letter, Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate (if applicable), Category certificate (if applicable), PwD certificate (if applicable), Passport-size photographs, Medical fitness certificate, Anti-ragging undertaking.
