Admission Process Flow
Admissions at RIT are primarily entrance-based. For undergraduate (B.E.) programs, 45% of seats are filled through the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET), 30% through COMEDK UGET, and the remaining 25% through the Management Quota. For B.Arch, NATA scores are mandatory. Postgraduate admissions (M.Tech/MBA/MCA) require valid scores in GATE, Karnataka PGCET, or KMAT. Candidates seeking admission under the management quota must appear for one of the relevant entrance exams (JEE Main, COMEDK, or KCET) and fulfill the academic eligibility criteria.
General Eligibility Criteria
For B.E. programs, candidates must have passed the 10+2/PUC examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, or Electronics as optional subjects. A minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC Karnataka candidates) is required in the optional subjects. For B.Arch, 50% marks in 10+2 and a valid NATA score are required. PG candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).
