Admission Process Flow
Admissions for B.Tech programs at IIST are conducted independently of JoSAA/CSAB. Candidates must qualify for the JEE Advanced examination. The process involves: 1. For M.Tech, admissions are primarily based on GATE scores followed by interviews, while PhD admissions require UGC-NET/CSIR-NET or JEST scores.
General Eligibility Criteria
For B.Tech programs: 1. Candidates must be Indian citizens. 2. Must have passed Class 12 with at least 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD). 3. Must have qualified for JEE Advanced with specified minimum marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. 4. Age limit: General category candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1999 (with 5 years relaxation for reserved categories). For M.Tech: A B.E./B.Tech or equivalent degree with minimum 60% aggregate and a valid GATE score.
