M.Tech. in Environmental Science and Technology

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) or equivalent in Civil, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or related discipline from a recognized university.
• Minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA for General/OBC category; 55% for SC/ST/Industry sponsored candidates.
• Valid GATE score in a relevant paper is mandatory for full-time regular candidates.
• Alternatively, candidates with M.Sc. degree in Environmental Science or related discipline may also be considered for vacant seats.

Admission Process for M.Tech/ME Programs:

• Admission is primarily based on a valid GATE score. First preference is given to GATE qualified candidates.
• After offering seats to GATE qualified candidates, remaining vacant seats are filled based on merit prepared by giving 30% weightage to 12th marks and 70% weightage to B.E./B.Tech marks.
• For candidates with M.Sc. as qualifying exam, merit is prepared by giving 50% weightage to B.Sc. marks and 50% weightage to M.Sc. marks.
• Candidates must apply online through the official TIET admissions portal (thapar.edu). Application fee is ₹ 1,500.
• Shortlisted candidates may be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds.
• Final selection is based on entrance exam scores, academic record, and performance in GD/PI.
