Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD) or CPI of 6.0 on 10-point scale.
  • Valid GATE score in CS (Computer Science and Information Technology) paper. GATE score validity: 3 years.
  • For candidates with B.Tech from IITs with CPI ≥ 8.0, GATE exemption may apply as per institute norms.
  • Final year students can apply but must meet degree requirements by time of admission.
  • No age limit.

Admission Process

Admission Process

  • Qualify GATE CS with a valid score.
  • Register on COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) for IIT admissions.
  • IIT Roorkee, Department of Computer Science and Engineering releases shortlist based on GATE score and academic profile.
  • Shortlisted candidates may be called for a personal interview (depending on specialization).
  • Final selection via COAP rounds based on GATE score (usually 70-100% weightage) plus interview if conducted.
  • Selected candidates accept offer, pay seat acceptance fee, and report for document verification at IIT Roorkee.

Documents Required: GATE scorecard, COAP offer letter, B.E./B.Tech degree and mark sheets, Class 10 & 12 certificates, ID proof, category certificate (if applicable), anti-ragging undertaking, medical fitness certificate.

Tuition (General/OBC): Rs. 25,000 per semester | SC/ST/PH: Rs. 12,500 per semester | Total Tuition (General): Rs. 1,00,000 for 2 years | Other semester fees (gymkhana, medical, library): ~Rs. 10,000 per semester | Hostel fee: Rs. 30,000 - Rs. 40,000 per year | Mess advance: ~Rs. 25,000 per year | One-time admission fee: Rs. 16,000 | Total including hostel & mess: ~Rs. 2,50,000 - Rs. 3,00,000 for 2 years
