M.Tech. in Software Engineering

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) or equivalent in Computer Science/IT or related discipline from a recognized university.
• Minimum 55% aggregate marks in graduation for General/OBC category (50% for SC/ST).
• Valid GATE score is mandatory for full-time regular candidates.
• Candidates with MCA or equivalent degree with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) are also eligible.
• Non-GATE candidates may apply but will be considered only after GATE-qualified candidates.

Admission Process for M.Tech Programs:

• Admission is primarily based on a valid GATE score, followed by CCMT (Centralized Counselling for M.Tech) counselling.
• GATE-qualified candidates are considered without any screening test.
• Non-GATE candidates must go through an online screening test and interview conducted by BIT Mesra.
• The final selection is based on GATE score and academic performance (80% weightage to GATE score and 20% weightage to academic performance).
• For non-GATE candidates, selection is based on interview and academic performance (20% weightage to interview and 80% weightage to academic performance).
• Candidates must register and apply online through the official BIT Mesra admissions portal (www.bitmesra.ac.in).
• Applications are typically accepted from April to June, with the academic session commencing in July/August.
