Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) B.Tech Admission 2026: Counseling & Steps

Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is the primary hub for engineering aspirants in Delhi. For the 2026 session, admission to 20+ B.Tech specializations will be based on JEE Main 2026 (Paper 1) ranks, with the exception of B.Tech (Biotechnology), which uses the internal IPU CET.

The GGSIPU Online Counseling (ipu.admissions.nic.in)

The centralized counseling is conducted in multiple rounds (Round 1, 2, 3, and Sliding Round). Registering with your JEE Main roll number on the NIC-managed portal is mandatory for seat allotment.

Counseling Steps for 2026

1. Registration & Fee: Payment of the counseling participation fee (₹1000 - ₹1500 approximate).


2. Choice Filling: Selection of college preferences (MAIT, MSIT, USICT, etc.). Expert Tip: Fill as many choices as possible to avoid 'No Allotment' scenarios.


3. Seat Acceptance: If allotted, pay the 'Part Academic Fee' to confirm your seat and download the provisional allotment letter.


4. Freeze vs. Float: Opt for 'Float' if you are targeting institutional upgrades in Round 2.
