Fee Structure Breakdown
- Total tuition fee for 2-year M.Tech Fire & Safety: Rs. 3,80,000 (approx.)
- Practical training fee (for fire simulation lab): Rs. 15,000 per semester.
- One-time Admission Fee: Rs. 18,000 + Security Deposit: Rs. 10,000.
- Hostel fee: Rs. 1,20,000 - Rs. 1,80,000 per year (separate hostel with safety protocols).
- Grand Total including all charges and hostel: Rs. 7,50,000 - Rs. 8,50,000 approx.
- Average Placement Package: Rs. 7 - 10 LPA (Recruiters: Reliance Industries, Adani Group, ONGC, BPCL, HPCL, NFPA, international safety consultancies).
Admission Process
- Step 1: Register on UPES admissions portal for M.Tech Fire & Safety.
- Step 2: Appear for UPESMET or upload GATE score (ME/CH/EE).
- Step 3: Candidates must clear a Physical Fitness Test (PFT) - 1.6 km run in 8 minutes, 10 push-ups, and 15 sit-ups.
- Step 4: Personal Interview with the Department of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE).
- Step 5: Final selection based on entrance score (60%) + PI (30%) + PFT (10%).
- Seat acceptance fee: Rs. 40,000.
Post-Allotment Reporting at UPES Dehradun
- Report to UPES Kandoli Campus (the main campus for HSE programs), Dehradun.
- Documents required: All educational certificates, GATE/UPESMET scorecard, Physical Fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner, Work experience certificate (if applicable), Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate, 6 passport-size photographs, Anti-ragging undertaking.
- Program certification: Approved by the National Safety Council (NSC) and recognized by the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE), UK.
