Eligibility Criteria
Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as compulsory subjects.
Minimum 50% aggregate in PCB for General category candidates. For SC/ST/OBC category, minimum 40% aggregate is required. For Locomotor Disability (LD) candidates, minimum 45% aggregate is required.
Must have completed at least 17 years of age on or before December 31 of the year of admission.
Must qualify NEET UG conducted by NTA: 50th percentile for General category, 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC, and 45th percentile for General-PwD.
Candidates must be medically fit as per DCI and SRIHER standards.
NRI/OCI/PIO/Foreign National candidates are also eligible under the NRI quota as per institute norms.
Admission Process
Fee Structure Breakdown
Annual Tuition Fee: Rs. 6,00,000 per year.
Total Tuition for 4-year academic course: Rs. 24,00,000.
Registration Fee (One-time): Rs. 10,000.
Books and Instruments Fee (First Year only): Rs. 40,000.
Hostel Fee: Rs. 1,60,000 - Rs. 1,85,000 per year (depending on room type and occupancy).
Mess Fee: Approximately Rs. 85,000 per year (vegetarian and non-vegetarian meal plans available).
Grand Total for entire 5-year BDS course including hostel and mess: Approx. Rs. 30,00,000 - Rs. 35,00,000.
Internship: Paid as per SRIHER norms.
Seat Matrix
Total BDS seats: 100 per year (DCI approved intake since 1995).
Admissions are conducted through the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tamil Nadu, based on NEET UG scores.
Seats are allocated under various quotas including Government Quota, Management Quota, and NRI Quota.
Admission Process
Step 1: Entrance Exam: Candidates must appear for and qualify NEET UG conducted by NTA.
Step 2: Registration for Counselling: Candidates must register for Tamil Nadu NEET UG Counselling conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tamil Nadu. All India Quota (AIQ) counselling is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
Step 3: Choice Filling & Locking: Candidates must fill their college and course preferences, including Sri Ramachandra Dental College, and lock their choices.
Step 4: Seat Allotment & Reporting: Based on NEET UG scores and preferences, seats are allotted. Candidates must report to the allotted college for document verification and fee payment.
Post-Selection Reporting
Upon selection, candidates must report to Sri Ramachandra Dental College for document verification and fee payment.
Required Documents (Indian Candidates): NEET UG admit card and scorecard, Class 10 mark sheet and certificate, Class 12 mark sheet and certificate, Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate (if applicable), Category certificate (if applicable), PwD certificate (if applicable), Passport-size photographs, Medical fitness certificate, Anti-ragging undertaking.
Required Documents (NRI/OCI/PIO/Foreign National Candidates): Passport and Visa of sponsor (proof of NRI status), Proof of relationship between sponsor and candidate, Notarized affidavit from sponsor confirming full course fee sponsorship, Embassy or Consulate certificate of sponsor (issued within the last 6 months), Notarized Family Tree certified by Tehsildar, Annexure I issued by MCC for nationality conversion (if applicable).
