M.Tech (Master of Technology)

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) in a relevant discipline from a recognized university.
• Minimum 60% marks (or 6.5 CGPA) for General/OBC/EWS categories; 55% (or 6.0 CGPA) for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
• Must have a valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score. Admissions are conducted through CCMT (Centralized Counseling for M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan.) counselling.
• GATE cutoff varies by specialization and category. For 2025, the expected GATE cutoff for General category is approximately 800.
• Foreign nationals/PIOs/NRIs can apply through DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) scheme based on GATE scores.

Admission Process

• Qualify GATE with a valid score.
• Register for CCMT counselling (ccmt.nic.in).
• Fill choices of NIT Trichy M.Tech specializations in order of preference.
• Seat allotment is based on GATE rank, category, and preferences.
• After allotment, report to NIT Trichy for document verification and fee payment.
• Hostel admission is done separately after reporting.
