B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)

• Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM), and English as compulsory subjects.
• Minimum 75% aggregate in PCM in Class XII (65% for SC/ST).
• Must have a valid score in JEE Advanced. Candidates must first qualify JEE Main to be eligible for JEE Advanced.
• Admissions are conducted through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling based on JEE Advanced All India Rank (AIR).

Fee Structure Breakdown

• Total tuition fee for the 4-year B.Tech program: Rs. 8.63 Lakhs (total academic fees).
• Tuition fee per semester: Rs. 1 Lakh (approx.).
• Breakdown includes: Tuition fee (Rs. 8 Lakhs), Caution fee (Rs. 8,000, refundable), and Other fees (Rs. 54,550).
• Hostel fee: Ranges from Rs. 43,000 to Rs. 51,000 per semester, depending on the type of hostel (old or new). Total hostel fees for the course are approximately Rs. 1.72 Lakhs.
• One-time admission charges: Rs. 30,000 (for General/OBC-NCL/EWS) and Rs. 15,000 (for SC/ST/PwD), paid during JoSAA counselling.
• Fee exemptions: SC/ST/PwD candidates are exempted from paying tuition fees regardless of family income. General/OBC/EWS candidates with family income less than Rs. 1 lakh per annum are also exempted.

Seat Matrix

• Total B.Tech seats across all specializations at IIT Delhi: 1,239.
• B.Tech CSE seats: 79 (including 20 reserved for female candidates). The 5-year integrated B.Tech + M.Tech in CSE has 29 seats.
• B.Tech Design Engineering: 20 seats (launched 2025-26).
• Admissions are strictly based on JEE Advanced rank through JoSAA counselling.

Admission Process

• Step 1: Appear for and qualify JEE Main.
• Step 2: Register for and appear in JEE Advanced.
• Step 3: Participate in JoSAA counselling (josaa.nic.in) using your JEE Advanced AIR.
• Step 4: Fill your choice of institute (IIT Delhi) and preferred B.Tech specialization.
• Step 5: If a seat is allotted, accept it by paying the seat acceptance fee and complete document verification.
• Step 6: Report to the IIT Delhi campus for final admission formalities.

Post-Selection Reporting

• Upon seat allotment, candidates must report to IIT Delhi for document verification and fee payment.
• Required Documents: Class 10 & 12 mark sheets and certificates, JEE Advanced scorecard, JoSAA seat allotment letter, Category certificate (if applicable), PwD certificate (if applicable), Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate (if applicable), Passport-size photographs, Medical fitness certificate, Anti-ragging undertaking.
