M.Tech. in Mechatronics Engineering

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with first class, 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST) or equivalent.
• Master's degree in science or equivalent degree, with first class, 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST) or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in science (4 years) with first class, 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST) or equivalent.
• Valid GATE Score in CS/DA/EC/EE/IN/ME/MT/MS/PH.
• CPI/CGPA of 8.0 in BTech from an IIT may also be considered.

Admission Process for M.Tech Programs:

• Admission is primarily based on a valid GATE score, followed by COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal) counselling.
• Candidates must first register on the official COAP portal (coap2026.iitr.ac.in) before filling out the application on the IIT Bhilai admission portal.
• For the 2026-27 session, the application window was from March 20, 2026 to April 20, 2026.
• After shortlisting based on GATE scores, candidates may be called for a personal interview as part of the final evaluation.
• The final merit list is prepared based on GATE score, academic record, and performance in the interview.
• Selected candidates must complete their admission formalities, including fee payment and document verification, within the stipulated timeline.
